We are looking for a QA Manager to lead and own the quality assurance function for our IT networking and wireless products, including access points, gateways, switches, and cloud-managed platforms running on Linux-based systems.
The role involves defining test strategies, managing QA teams, collaborating closely with Development, Product Management, and Support, and ensuring that every product release meets high standards of performance, security, stability, and documentation completeness.
The QA Manager will also be responsible for final product release readiness, including user manuals, release notes, and internal documentation.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. QA Strategy & Leadership
- Define and own the overall QA strategy for networking and wireless products.
- Build, mentor, and manage a QA team (manual + automation testers).
- Establish QA processes, standards, KPIs, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, efficiency, and defect prevention.
2. Product Testing (Core Responsibility)
- Lead testing for networking and wireless products, including:
- Wireless Access Points (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E)
- Gateways / Firewalls
- Switches (L2/L3, PoE)
- Cloud controllers and management platforms
- Ensure validation across:
- Linux-based OS (Ubuntu, OpenWrt, embedded Linux)
- Network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, STP, LLDP, QoS)
- Wireless standards (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, roaming, captive portals)
- Security features (WPA2/WPA3, firewall rules, VPN, certificates)
3. Test Planning & Execution
- Create and maintain:
- Test plans
- Test cases
- Regression suites
- Acceptance criteria
- Perform and oversee:
- Functional testing
- Integration testing
- System and regression testing
- Performance and stress testing
- Failover and high-availability testing
- Ensure hardwareâsoftware interoperability testing across devices and vendors.
4. Automation & Tools
- Drive test automation strategy for:
- APIs
- Web-based controllers
- Device configuration validation
- Work with tools such as:
- Python / Bash scripting
- CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Network test tools (iperf, tcpdump, Wireshark)
- Ensure test results are integrated into release pipelines.
5. Collaboration with Development & Product Teams
- Work closely with Developers to:
- Review requirements and architecture from a test ability perspective
- Identify issues early in the development cycle
- Debug complex networking and system-level issues
- Participate in:
- Sprint planning
- Design reviews
- Release readiness reviews
- Act as the final quality gate before any product release.
6. Documentation & Release Management
- Own QA responsibility for documentation completeness and accuracy, including:
- Product manuals
- Installation guides
- Configuration guides
- Release notes
- Ensure every final release is bundled with:
- End-user product manual
- Internal technical documentation
- Coordinate with Product and Engineering teams to validate documentation against actual product behavior.
7. Quality, Compliance & Security
- Ensure products comply with:
- Internal quality standards
- Security best practices
- Regulatory or customer-specific requirements
- Track, analyze, and report:
- Defect trends
- Root causes
- Quality metrics across releases
- Familiarity with OpenWrt, Ubuntu, or similar Linux distributions (preferred)
- Prior involvement in product certification or customer acceptance testing
