Appbay Technologies is seeking a skilled Databricks Developer to join our growing data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building scalable data pipelines, implementing ETL/ELT processes, and working with cloud-based data platforms. You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining data solutions using Databricks, Apache Spark, and modern cloud technologies to support business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Develop data transformation and ingestion processes from multiple data sources, including databases, APIs, and third-party systems.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Write productive and maintainable code using Python, PySpark, SQL, and related technologies.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data processing jobs to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and governance best practices.
- Work with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud to support data engineering initiatives.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation activities.




- Stay updated with the latest Databricks features, data engineering practices, and industry trends.

Required Skills
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, or Data Analytics projects.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Good understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and modern data architectures.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with data modeling, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar data integration tools.
- Knowledge of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Lakehouse architecture.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting and visualization tools.
- Databricks Certification or cloud certifications are an added advantage.
