The Pharmacist will be responsible for the accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing patient-centric pharmaceutical care. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of hospital pharmacy practices, and commitment to patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
• Accurately dispense prescription medications to inpatients and outpatients.
• Review and interpret physician prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and absence of drug interactions.
• Provide patient counseling on dosage, side effects, storage, and safe use of medicines.
• Maintain records of controlled substances, narcotics, and ensure compliance with Drug & Cosmetics Act.
• Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and consumables.
• Conduct regular audits of expiry dates, batch numbers, and storage conditions.
• Ensure proper billing, documentation,
and reporting of dispensed drugs.
• Adhere to hospital policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and NABH/JCI accreditation guidelines.
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a recognized institute.
- Valid State Pharmacy Council registration (mandatory).
- 0–3 years of hospital/retail pharmacy experience (freshers may be considered).
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and dosage administration.
- Positive communication skills and ability to counsel patients.
- Computer proficiency (Hospital Information System / ERP knowledge preferred).
- Ability to work in shifts, weekends, and rotational duties.
