Role & responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture and technical design of enterprise RPA and Intelligent Automation solutions, from discovery and feasibility assessment through deployment and production support.
- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for RPA, workflow automation, process optimization, and Intelligent Automation.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Solution Design Documents (SDD), architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
- Design automation solutions using UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, and other relevant automation technologies.
- Select the appropriate automation platform, architecture, integrations, infrastructure, and deployment model based on business requirements, scalability, security, and cost.
- Define enterprise RPA architecture standards, reusable frameworks, development methodologies, coding standards, and best practices.
- Design integrations between RPA platforms and APIs, databases, SAP, Oracle, CRM/ERP systems, web applications, cloud platforms, and legacy applications.
- Define non-functional requirements covering scalability, availability, security, performance, logging, exception handling, disaster recovery, and maintainability.
- Design and oversee Dev/Test/Production environments, bot infrastructure, Orchestrator/Control Room, queues, assets, credentials, scheduling, and deployment pipelines.
- Review and approve solution designs, architecture, critical code components, technical documentation, and deployment strategies.
- Guide developers and technical teams throughout development, testing, deployment, hypercare, monitoring, and production support.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies, POCs, architecture assessments, and due diligence for complex automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Enterprise Architects, Developers, Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, and business stakeholders to deliver automation solutions.
- Establish RPA governance, security controls, compliance standards, risk-management processes,
and architecture review mechanisms.
- Monitor automation performance and define parameters for measuring, managing, and improving RPA solutions.
- Drive adoption of advanced capabilities such as Document Understanding, OCR, AI/ML, Generative AI, APIs, Process Mining, and Intelligent Document Processing.
- Evaluate emerging Agentic AI and AI-powered automation technologies and identify opportunities to integrate them with enterprise RPA.
- Mentor RPA developers, leads, and architects through technical guidance, code reviews, architecture reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Support automation CoE initiatives, platform roadmaps, technology evaluations, licensing decisions, and capability development.
- Provide technical leadership during production incidents, escalations, performance issues, and complex automation challenges.
- Ensure automation solutions align with enterprise architecture, technology strategy, security policies, and industry best practices.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of overall IT experience, with robust experience in RPA/Intelligent Automation and architecture roles.
- Strong hands-on and architecture-level experience with UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, and/or Microsoft Power Automate. Multi-platform exposure is highly valuable.
- Strong knowledge of UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, Robots, Queues, Assets, Credentials, Automation Cloud, REFramework, and platform architecture.
- Proven experience designing end-to-end enterprise RPA solutions and taking them from discovery through production deployment.
- Strong understanding of RPA architecture, solution design, infrastructure planning, deployment architecture, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Experience preparing and reviewing PDD, SDD, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, feasibility assessments, and solution proposals.
- Strong programming/scripting knowledge in Python, C#, VB.NET, Java, or JavaScript.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, SOAP, Web Services, SQL, databases, microservices, and enterprise application integration.
- Experience integrating automation with SAP, Oracle, Salesforce/CRM, ERP systems, web applications, Citrix, mainframe, and legacy applications.
- Working knowledge of Azure, AWS, cloud automation, DevOps, CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with OCR, Document Understanding, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, and Agentic AI is an advantage.
- Understanding of Process Mining, Task Mining, BPM, workflow automation, and process optimization.
- Strong knowledge of RPA governance, security, authentication, RBAC, credential management, logging, monitoring, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Ability to assess automation opportunities and calculate feasibility, effort, cost, scalability, risks, and expected ROI.
- Strong experience conducting architecture reviews, code reviews, technical POCs, design workshops, and client/stakeholder presentations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience mentoring developers and working with distributed/cross-functional automation teams.
- Relevant certifications such as UiPath Certified Professional Automation Solution Architect, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Platform, AWS/Azure, or AI/GenAI certifications are an added advantage. UiPath specifically positions its Automation Solution Architect Professional certification for architects with advanced automation architecture and complex-process experience.
