We are seeking a skilled Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) Technician to join our team responsible for conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) of rail infrastructure using phased array ultrasonic testing technology. The successful candidate will detect and evaluate flaws in rail tracks, wheels, and other railway components to ensure safe and efficient operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rail industry standards, regulations, best practices, and experience with Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing equipment and techniques. The technician will work independently and as part of a team to conduct field inspections, analyze data, and report findings to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Role & responsibilities

- Conducting Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing scans on rail tracks, bridges, and other rail infrastructure to detect defects and anomalies.
- Interpreting test results to identify potential flaws and defects, and reporting findings to supervisors.
- Collaborating with other technicians, engineers, and supervisors to plan and execute testing schedules and protocols.
- Maintaining and calibrating Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing equipment, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Documenting test results, procedures,



and any defects or anomalies found in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

Preferred candidate profile

- 2 years of experience in NDT/PAUT testing, preferably in the rail industry- DESIRABLE (Freshers can also apply)
- Strong understanding of PAUT technology, its principles, and applications.
- Knowledge of rail track maintenance and inspection procedures.
- Ability to operate and maintain PAUT equipment, including scanners and probes.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to identify defects and flaws.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and quality standards.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift equipment up to 50 pounds along with willingness to travel to remote locations.
- Certification in PAUT (e.g., ASNT-CP or equivalent) would be an added advantage.
- Associate's degree or higher in a field related to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), such as Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Possession of industry-recognized certifications, such as ASNT Level II or III in Ultrasonic Testing or Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing.
