L2 Security Engineer – Micro Segmentation (Guardicore)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced L2 Security Engineer with hands-on expertise in Micro Segmentation technologies, specifically Guardicore. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, policy support, and operational maintenance of enterprise micro segmentation infrastructure to enhance workload and network security.

Key Responsibilities

· Monitor and manage Guardicore micro segmentation infrastructure.

· Support implementation and maintenance of segmentation policies.

· Monitor east-west traffic and security events within the environment.

· Analyze suspicious activities and support incident response teams.

· Perform policy tuning and rule optimization to reduce false positives.

· Support agent installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

· Assist in onboarding servers, applications, and workloads into segmentation policies.

· Generate operational, security, and compliance reports.

Security Operations

· Monitor micro segmentation alerts and security incidents.

· Support SOC teams in investigation and remediation activities.

· Perform traffic flow analysis and policy validation.

· Escalate critical issues and incidents to L3/security teams.

· Ensure segmentation policies align with enterprise security standards.

Platform Support & Troubleshooting

· Troubleshoot Guardicore agent connectivity and communication issues.

· Support installation, patching, and upgrade activities.





· Monitor system health, storage, and performance.

· Coordinate with server, network, and application teams for issue resolution.

· Perform backup and recovery support activities.

Integration Support

· Support integration with SIEM platforms.

· Assist with Active Directory and authentication integrations.

· Support integration with cloud and virtualization platforms.

· Assist with automation and API integration tasks.

Required Skills

· Hands-on experience with Guardicore or micro segmentation solutions.

· Knowledge of network security and segmentation concepts.

· Experience with security monitoring and policy management.

· Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewall concepts.

· Basic Windows/Linux administration knowledge.

· Experience with traffic flow analysis and troubleshooting.

· Knowledge of virtualization and cloud environments.

Preferred Certifications

· Guardicore Certification (Preferred)

· Security+

· CEH

· ITIL Foundation

Experience & Qualification

· 3–6 years of cybersecurity or infrastructure security experience.

· Minimum 2+ years of micro segmentation or network security experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

Valuable to Have

· Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel.

· Knowledge of PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting.

· Understanding of compliance standards including PCI-DSS and ISO 27001.
