Mandatory SKills- Open TextPPM Shell Scripting (Bash / Ksh)
Key Responsibilities
Platform Configuration: Configure and optimize core PPM modules including Demand Management, Time Management, Resource Management, and Financial Management. [
Customization Development: Design and develop custom workflows, portlets, dashboards, and reports to meet enterprise governance needs.
System Integration: Build and maintain integration solutions connecting OpenText PPM with external enterprise systems (such as Jira or Workday) using APIs and web services.
Maintenance Upgrades: Perform system upgrades, patch management, performance tuning, and routine troubleshooting.
User Support: Provide L3 technical support, resolve system defects, and assist internal teams with best-practice adoption.
Required Skills Qualifications
OS and Infrastructure - Linux/Unix or Windows server administration (whichever the Kintana server runs on)
Basic networking (ports, firewalls, DNS, load balancers)
Handling services/daemons, log files, file systems
Database -Oracle/SQL Server basics:
Writing SQL for troubleshooting (e.g., checking request status, logs)
Understanding schema, indexes, performance basics
Backup and recovery processes (usually DBAs own this, but you should understand impact)
Scripting / Automation -Shell scripting (bash/ksh) or Windows batch/PowerShell
Possibly Perl or Python if used in migration scripts
Ability to: Read existing deployment scripts
Debug them when migrations fail
Make small changes safely (with proper approvals)
Application Server / Middleware Knowledge- Understanding of how your target applications are structured:
Java (WAR/EAR deployments)
.NET (IIS sites)
Database changes (DDL, DML scripts)
Familiarity with: WebLogic/WebSphere/JBoss/Tomcat logs and deployment processes
How configuration is stored and migrated
Experience: 5 to 7+ years
