The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work for food processing and food machinery equipment. The role requires precision welding, knowledge of food-grade materials, and strict adherence to safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out welding and fabrication work for food machinery and processing equipment
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
Perform welding processes such as Arc / TIG / MIG as per job requirements
Weld SS (Stainless Steel) components, frames, pipes, and structures
Ensure smooth, clean, and hygienic weld finishes suitable for food machinery
Repair and modify existing machinery and fabricated parts
Inspect welds for quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy
Maintain welding machines, tools, and consumables in good condition
Follow food safety, hygiene, and shop-floor safety standards
Coordinate with fitters, supervisors, and engineers for assembly and installation work
Skills & Competencies
Solid knowledge of welding techniques (TIG/MIG/Arc)
Experience in SS welding for food-grade equipment
Ability to read drawings and welding symbols
Good understanding of fabrication tolerances and finishing
Attention to detail and quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications & Experience
ITI / Certified Welder / Equivalent Technical Qualification
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in food machinery or industrial machinery welding
Experience in stainless steel fabrication is mandatory
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in standing positions for long hours
Ability to handle welding equipment and heavy components
Good hand-eye coordination
