The role requires a strong on-ground presence, hands-on leadership, and the ability to balance business priorities with workforce well-being. You will act as the primary interface between plant leadership, employees, unions (if applicable), and statutory authorities.

Lead negotiations related to wages, settlements, productivity agreements, and workforce restructuring where required.

Coordinate with labor departments, local administration, and external agencies to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Compliance, Labor Law & Governance

Own compliance with all applicable labor and industrial laws, including factory regulations, social security, contract labor, wages, and environmental norms.

Ensure timely filings, renewals, audits, and upkeep of statutory documentation and registers.

Act as the single point of contact for factory inspectors, labor officers, and regulatory authorities.

Ensure contractor compliance with statutory, safety, and documentation requirements.

Hiring & Workforce Lifecycle Management

Manage recruitment for manufacturing roles across permanent staff, trainees, and contract workforce.

Drive structured onboarding, induction, and shop-floor familiarization programs.

Oversee time office operations including attendance, shift rosters,

overtime, leave, and workforce deployment.

Manage separation processes including exits, settlements, and final documentation.

Plant Administration & Employee Experience

Lead plant administration functions such as canteen operations, transport, security, housekeeping, and facilities.

Partner with safety teams to ensure adherence to EHS standards and statutory safety requirements.

Design and run employee engagement initiatives, welfare schemes, health programs, and community activities.

Actively monitor shop-floor morale and address issues before they escalate.

Capability Building & Performance Support

Identify training needs for technical skills, safety, compliance, and behavioral development.

Coordinate statutory training programs and skill upgradation initiatives.

Support performance review processes for plant employees in collaboration with functional heads.

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience handling HR, IR, and compliance in a manufacturing or factory environment.

Deep working knowledge of labor laws, factory operations, and contract labor management.

Proven ability to manage shop-floor workforce dynamics with maturity and authority.
