Job Summary

The IB Spanish Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, inquiry-based Spanish language instruction in alignment with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and framework. The teacher will foster language acquisition, intercultural understanding, and international-mindedness while creating an engaging, inclusive, and student-centred learning setting. The role requires collaboration with colleagues to design authentic learning experiences that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess Spanish language learning in accordance with the IB programme framework (PYP, MYP, and/or DP, as applicable).
Develop students' proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and intercultural communication.
Design inquiry-based and concept-driven learning experiences that promote student agency and authentic language use.




Implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and language proficiency levels of students.
Use formative and summative assessments aligned with IB assessment practices and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
Integrate the IB Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and Learner Profile attributes into teaching and classroom practices.
Create a protected, inclusive, and respectful learning setting that encourages risk-taking and confidence in language learning.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and contribute to curriculum development and programme enhancement.
Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment, and attendance, and prepare reports in accordance with school and IB requirements.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and learning goals.
