We are hiring Optometrists to be a part of Bellowells Comprehensive School Health Program, implemented in collaboration with government schools across Himachal Pradesh. The selected candidates will be responsible for conducting vision screenings and identifying early signs of visual impairments in school-aged children to support timely interventions.
Roles Responsibilities +
Conduct vision screenings and eye health assessments for students in government schools
Identify common visual impairments such as refractive errors or squint
Educate students and teachers about eye care and hygiene practices
Refer students for specialized treatment or further evaluation when required
Collaborate with the medical team during field visits for coordinated care
Maintain accurate records and daily reporting of screenings conducted
Qualifications +
Bachelor s or Diploma in Optometry from a recognized institution
Prior experience in school screenings, pediatric optometry,
or community eye care is preferred
Solid observational and diagnostic skills
Positive communication skills and ability to interact with children
Willingness to travel to assigned schools and conduct field-based screenings
