The Senior Engineer – Maintenance is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment availability and production efficiency in a bus body manufacturing plant. The role focuses on maintaining manufacturing equipment, utilities, and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance
Plan, schedule, and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for all plant machinery.
Ensure minimum equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Monitor equipment performance and implement improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and productivity.
Maintain maintenance history records and analyze recurring failures.
Manufacturing Equipment
Maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as:
CNC machines
Press brakes and shearing machines
MIG, TIG, and spot welding machines
Plasma cutting machines
Drilling and fabrication equipment
Paint shop equipment and spray booths
Air compressors and compressed air distribution systems
Utilities Maintenance
Ensure uninterrupted operation of plant utilities including:
Electrical distribution systems (LT panels, transformers, DG sets)
Air compressors
Water supply systems
Industrial pumps
Lighting systems
Fire protection systems
Planning & Documentation
Develop preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS or maintenance planning tools.
Maintain equipment records, checklists, calibration schedules, and maintenance logs.
Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement to avoid stock-outs.
Prepare maintenance reports, KPIs, and monthly performance reviews.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, statutory regulations, and environmental standards.
