--Role & responsibilities
The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a full time Assistant Professor position. This role is suited to candidates with a robust academic background and teaching aptitude in mathematics. The successful candidate will primarily focus on undergraduate teaching, student mentoring, and departmental activities, with opportunities to pursue further qualifications and research over time.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver undergraduate-level courses in mathematics, including core and elective subjects (e.g., Calculus, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Statistics & Probability, Differential Equations, Numerical Methods).
Prepare lesson plans, course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with curriculum objectives.
Evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments, and continuous assessment.
Mentor and advise students on academic progress and coursework-related queries.
Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and academic committees.
Support institutional activities such as admissions, exam invigilation, and student outreach programs.
Stay updated on developments in mathematics pedagogy and incorporate effective teaching practices.
Assist in organizing workshops, seminars, and co-curricular academic activities.
Preferred candidate profile
Participation in workshops, certifications, or training related to teaching methodology or mathematics education.
Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or higher-secondary level.
Familiarity with mathematical software/tools (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python, LaTeX, GeoGebra).
