Job Description – Electrician (Textile Industry)

Job Title: Electrician
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Location: Textile Manufacturing Unit
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Electrical Incharge

Qualifications
ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Electrical License (Wireman/Supervisor License) preferred.
Additional certifications in industrial electrical maintenance will be an added advantage.

Experience
3 to 8 years of experience in textile manufacturing industries.
Experience in spinning, weaving, processing, garment, or dyeing units preferred.
Familiarity with VFDs, PLCs, sensors, motors, and industrial automation systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance
Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of textile machinery and electrical systems.
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in spinning, weaving, processing, dyeing, and utility equipment.
Maintain motors, drives, control panels, transformers, switchgears, and electrical circuits.
Carry out wiring, cable laying, panel maintenance,



and electrical installations.

Machine Troubleshooting
Attend machine breakdowns promptly and restore equipment to operational condition.
Identify root causes of electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime.

Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company regulations.
Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
Maintain proper housekeeping in electrical rooms and work areas.
Ensure statutory compliance related to electrical installations and equipment.

Utilities Maintenance
Maintain electrical systems related to compressors, boilers, pumps, HVAC systems, DG sets, and air handling units.
Monitor power consumption and assist in energy-saving initiatives.
