SENIOR MERCHANDISER – JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Merchandising
Experience: 5–8 Years in Garment Export Industry

Job Purpose

To independently manage export orders from product development to shipment, ensuring timely execution, technical accuracy, quality, compliance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle buyer communication, inquiries, orders and day-to-day follow-ups.
- Plan and coordinate product development including Design, Proto, Fit, Size Set, PP, TOP and final approvals.
- Review tech packs, measurements, construction details and buyer requirements to ensure technical accuracy.
- Prepare and monitor the Critical Path and ensure timely completion of all development and production milestones.
- Coordinate with Design, Sampling, Production, Planning, QA, Stores, Logistics and Commercial teams.
- Ensure timely development and approval of fabrics, trims, accessories, printing, embroidery, washing and other processes.
- Monitor production, quality and shipment schedules and proactively resolve issues.
- Handle costing,



price negotiation and margin improvement in coordination with the internal IE & Buying house Team.
- Ensure compliance with buyer-specific, social, environmental and ethical standards such as BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, C-TPAT, as applicable.
- Ensure all buyer requirements, quality standards and required documentation are completed before shipment.
- Handle buyer comments, quality issues, claims and order-related concerns.
- Prepare and review order-wise MIS, costing, productivity, quality and delivery performance.
- Build robust buyer relationships and support repeat business and new product development.

Required Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, sampling and manufacturing processes.
- Good understanding of Proto, Fit, Size Set, PP and TOP sample processes.
- Strong buyer communication, negotiation and coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of compliance requirements and buyer standards.
