Assess and catalog the existing SSIS package inventory, including dependencies, data sources, and connection managers
Re-point packages to Azure SQL Server VM targets, updating environment configurations
Validate migrated package behavior against source environments such as, data types, row counts, transformation outputs
Deploy packages to SSISDB
Recreate SQL Agent job schedules to match existing orchestration logic
Work through compatibility issues arising from SQL Server version differences or workplace changes
Coordinate with the client's infrastructure and DBA teams on networking, credentials, and storage access
Document the migrated state throughout, including any outstanding items or deviations
Required Experience
Solid hands-on SSIS experience including package development, debugging, and deployment
Proven experience migrating or re-deploying packages across environments
Strong working knowledge of SSISDB and Deployment Models
SQL Server 2016 or later, in both on-premises and VM contexts
SQL Server Agent job scheduling
T-SQL at a level sufficient for validation queries and reading existing stored procedures
Useful to Have
SQL Server on Azure VMs (IaaS)
Basic Azure networking, enough to work effectively with an infrastructure team
Experience with SSIS packages consuming non-SQL sources such as flat files or REST
