The Business Development Manager (BDM) – Manned Guarding is a mid-level management role solely focused on securing high-volume B2B contracts for physical security guards, supervisors, and specialized security personnel. The role requires a robust understanding of state labor compliance, statutory norms, and corporate guard deployments across Tamil Nadu.
Key Responsibilities
B2B Client Acquisition & Pipeline Management
Lead Generation: Target and secure contracts with IT parks, manufacturing plants, logistics hubs, retail chains, and residential townships.
Site Risk Assessments: Conduct physical site surveys to estimate the required deployment headcount (guards, supervisors, night patrollers, and assignment officers).
Contract Closures: Drive the end-to-end sales cycle from cold calling to signing multi-year service level agreements (SLAs).
Commercial Pricing & Tender Management
RFP & Tender Preparation: Draft, calculate, and submit bids for private corporate RFPs and government security tenders.
Cost Calculation:
Build competitive commercial proposals factoring in statutory minimum wages, employee provident fund (EPF), employee state insurance (ESI), and company service margins.
Margin Optimization: Negotiate pricing structures to maintain profitable gross margins despite fierce local industry competition. [1, 2]
Operational Coordination & Guard Mobilization
Operations Liaison: Partner closely with the recruitment and training operations teams to verify guard availability before closing contracts.
Transition Management: Oversee the smooth deployment of recent guard forces during the critical "Day 1" onboarding phase at client sites.
Retention Support: Work with operations to address client complaints regarding guard attendance, discipline, or grooming to prevent contract termination.
