Insight Publica is looking for a detail-oriented language qualified to handle quality checking of our book manuscripts across Malayalam, Hindi and English. You will be the final set of eyes before a book goes to print.
Key responsibilities
Proofread and quality-check manuscripts in Malayalam, Hindi and English before publication
Check spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and consistency of style
Verify translation accuracy and meaning across the three languages
Check formatting: headings, page numbers, indexes, footnotes, captions and layout consistency
Mark corrections clearly and coordinate with authors, translators and the DTP/design team
Maintain and follow an in-house style sheet
Complete assigned titles within agreed deadlines
Requirements
Solid reading and writing proficiency in Malayalam,
Hindi and English (all three are essential)
Degree in a language, literature, translation studies, journalism or a related field preferred
Prior experience in proofreading, editing, translation or publishing is an advantage; freshers with genuinely robust language skills may apply
Sharp eye for detail and patience for long-form text
Basic working knowledge of MS Word / Google Docs; familiarity with PDF markup is a plus
Based in or willing to relocate to Kozhikode
Selection process
Shortlisted candidates will be given a short paid sample QC test (a few pages in each language) before the final interview.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
