1. Clinical Duties:
- Manage critically ill patients in ICU (medical, surgical, cardiac, or mixed ICU).
- Perform initial assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of treatment plans.
- Monitor patients using advanced life support systems (ventilators, invasive monitoring, etc.).
- Perform procedures such as:
- Intubation and airway management
- Central venous catheter insertion
- Arterial line placement
- Chest tube insertion
- Basic and advanced life support (BLS/ACLS)
- Handle medical emergencies, including code blue situations.
- Ensure proper documentation of patient records and treatment plans.
2. ICU Management & Coordination:
- Work closely with consultants, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Participate in daily ICU rounds and case discussions.
- Coordinate with other departments for referrals and patient management.
- Ensure infection control protocols and ICU policies are strictly followed.
3. Academic Responsibilities:
- Participate in teaching MBBS students, interns, and junior residents.
- Present case discussions, seminars, and journal clubs.
- Assist in research activities, audits, and publications.
4. Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Assist in implementation of hospital protocols and quality standards.
- Participate in hospital committees when required.
5. Emergency & Shift Duties:
- Work in rotational shifts, including night duties.
- Be available for emergency calls and critical interventions.
Qualifications:
- MD/DNB in Anaesthesia
- Preference for candidates with training/fellowship in Critical Care.
Experience:
- 03 years of experience post MD/DNB (as per NMC norms for Senior Residency).
- Experience in ICU management preferred.
