Job Description – Urban Planning
Role Overview
The position will support government and development-sector clients in planning and implementing urban development programmes, policies and infrastructure projects. The role requires a combination of technical urban-planning expertise, consulting capabilities and stakeholder-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake urban and regional planning, spatial assessments and infrastructure gap analyses.
- Prepare city, urban and housing strategies and urban-sector policies.
- Support the design and implementation of urban infrastructure, housing,
municipal finance and institutional-strengthening programmes.
- Conduct demographic, socio-economic, land-use and geospatial analyses using GIS and other planning tools.
- Undertake policy research, benchmarking, feasibility assessments and preparation of strategic recommendations.
- Prepare technical proposals, reports, presentations, concept notes and client deliverables.
- Coordinate with government departments, urban local bodies, development authorities, multilateral agencies and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultations, workshops and capacity-building programmes.
- Support project management, monitoring, data analysis and preparation of progress reports and dashboards.
- Contribute to business development through chance identification, proposal preparation and development of sector credentials.
- Guide junior team members and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
