Dalhousie Public School, Recent Chandigarh, is looking for a qualified, compassionate and responsible School Nurse to provide round-the-clock healthcare support to students in a boarding school environment. The School Nurse will be responsible for managing the school infirmary, attending to the day-to-day healthcare needs of boarders, responding to medical emergencies, maintaining health records and coordinating with parents, doctors and hospitals when required. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a residential school setting and understand the additional healthcare requirements of students living away from their families.
Key Responsibilities
Student Healthcare & Infirmary Management
Provide first aid and immediate medical assistance to students and staff in case of illness, injury or emergencies.
Attend to the routine healthcare needs of boarding and day students.
Assess students presenting with fever, injuries, pain, allergies, minor illnesses andother common health concerns.
Monitor students who are unwell and determine whether they require rest,observation, medical consultation or hospital referral.
Manage the day-to-day functioning of the school infirmary.
Maintain adequate stocks of medicines, first-aid supplies and medical equipment.
Regularly check medicines and medical supplies for availability and expiry dates.
Ensure the infirmary is clean, hygienic, well-organised and adequately equipped.
Boarding & Residential Care
Provide healthcare support to boarders beyond regular school hours, as per the school's duty and shift schedule.
Monitor boarders staying in the infirmary and ensure appropriate care andobservation.
Maintain proper records of students admitted to the infirma
