Job Summary:Orchids The International School is seeking a passionate and experienced Basketball Coach to inspire students and develop their strategic thinking, concentration, and problem-solving abilities through structured chess coaching. The ideal candidate should be capable of teaching students across different age groups while fostering a positive and engaging learning setting. Orchids regularly recruits co-curricular instructors, including chess, across its campuses.
Responsibilities
Conduct engaging basketball classes for students from primary to secondary grades.
Develop lesson plans tailored to different skill levels.
Organize intasketball internal b competitions, inter-school tournaments, and training camps. e concepts.
Organize internal chess competitions, inter-school tournaments, and training camps.
Identify and mentor talented students for district, state, and national-level competitions.
Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and school management.
Encourage sportsmanship, discipline, critical thinking, and decision-making.
Maintain attendance records and performance reports.
Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to integrate chess into students' holistic development.
Ensure a protected, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preferred).
Recognized Basketball Coach certification or equivalent training is desirable.
FIDE rating, National Rating, or tournament playing experience is an added advantage.
Minimum 13 years of experience coaching chess in schools, academies, or clubs.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
Basic computer proficiency for maintaining reports.
