EHS Officer Water Treatment Plant

Job Purpose

Responsible for implementing and monitoring Setting, Health & Safety requirements at the water treatment plant, ensuring compliance with applicable statutory requirements, company standards, and protected operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
Conduct daily safety inspections of the water treatment plant, pumps, chemical storage areas, electrical rooms, and work areas.
Identify hazards and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
Implement and monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW), LOTO, confined-space entry, work-at-height, hot-work, and excavation safety systems.
Ensure proper use and availability of PPE.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and regular EHS training.
Monitor chemical handling and storage, including chlorine, acids, alkalis, coagulants, and other treatment chemicals.
Ensure availability and inspection of emergency showers,



eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, spill kits, gas detectors, and other emergency equipment.
Conduct risk assessments/JSA for plant operations and maintenance activities.
Investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions and prepare corrective-action reports.
Participate in emergency drills, including chemical leakage, fire, confined-space rescue, and evacuation drills.

Environmental Management
Monitor compliance related to wastewater, sludge handling, chemical waste, and hazardous waste.
Maintain required environmental records and support regulatory inspections.
Monitor water quality, discharge parameters, chemical consumption, and waste-management practices as applicable.
Ensure proper segregation, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
