Role & responsibilities
Research current and emerging fashion trends, color forecasts, fabrics, trims, and market insights.
Design and develop seasonal collections for women's ethnic wear.
Prepare digital illustration, CADs, technical drawings, and detailed tech packs.
Coordinate with merchandising, sampling, sourcing, and production teams to ensure timely product development.
Select appropriate fabrics, prints, embellishments, embroidery techniques, and trims for each collection.
Review and approve proto samples, fit samples, and production samples to ensure design accuracy and quality standards.
Conduct fit sessions and implement necessary design modifications.
Collaborate with vendors, artisans, printers, and embroidery units for fabric sourcing and product development.
Ensure all collections align with the Rustorange brand identity, customer preferences, seasonal trends, and commercial objectives.
Lead, mentor, and guide junior designers and the sampling team.
Manage collection timelines and ensure timely completion of all design milestones.
Preferred candidate profile
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design from NIFT.
Minimum 03 to 06 years of hands-on experience in designing Women's Ethnic Wear.
Strong knowledge of Indian textiles, fabrics, garment construction, embroidery techniques, print development, and surface ornamentation.
Excellent hand sketching, illustration, and concept development skills.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and MS Office.
Solid understanding of fashion forecasting, color trends, and consumer preferences.
Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and team management skills.
Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a quick-paced, deadline-driven setting.
