Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Management
Provide direct nursing care to patients as per physician orders and nursing protocols.
Assess patient conditions and monitor vital signs regularly.
Assist patients with daily living activities and personal hygiene when required.
Identify changes in patient condition and immediately inform the treating consultant or duty doctor.
Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
Medication Administration
Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions and report abnormalities.
Maintain medication records accurately.
Ensure proper storage and handling of medications.
Monitoring & Documentation
Maintain nursing notes, treatment charts, intake-output charts, and vital sign records.
Complete admission, transfer, and discharge documentation.
Ensure all records are accurate, timely, and compliant with hospital standards.
Report incidents, adverse events, and patient complaints as per hospital policy.
Infection Control & Patient Safety
Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
Ensure proper hand hygiene and use of PPE.
Maintain cleanliness and safety within the ward.
Implement patient safety measures to prevent falls, medication errors, and hospital-acquired infections.
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with doctors, nursing supervisors, and allied healthcare departments.
Communicate patient status and treatment plans to patients and their relatives.
Participate in ward rounds and implement medical instructions.
Ensure smooth handover during shift changes.
Emergency Management
Respond promptly to patient emergencies.
Assist in resuscitation and emergency procedures.
Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and crash carts.
Escalate critical patient conditions immediately to concerned authorities.
