Overview: We are exploring a potential project involving the conversion of scanned building data into accurate 2D layouts and structured GIS datasets. The role will involve interpreting point-cloud/scanned data, digitizing building features, and preparing GIS/CAD outputs according to defined standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work with LiDAR/point-cloud data (LAS/LAZ).
- Create accurate 2D building/floor-plan layouts from scanned data.
- Digitize features such as walls, doors, windows, rooms, stairs, elevators and relevant fixed fixtures.
- Work with ArcGIS Pro and GIS datasets.
- Use CAD software for detailed 2D drafting where required.
- Maintain consistent geometry, naming, structure and accuracy.
- Perform QA/QC on completed work.
- Follow project-specific standards and incorporate client feedback.
- Track time and productivity to help establish project benchmarks.
- Work collaboratively with the team to develop and improve the most efficient workflow.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Familiarity with LiDAR/point-cloud data
- Experience with Autodesk ReCap or CloudCompare
- Knowledge of QGIS
- Familiarity with LAS/LAZ, DWG/DXF and geodatabase formats
- Understanding of coordinate systems and GIS data management
- Solid attention to detail and spatial accuracy
- Ability to interpret architectural/building layouts
Good to Have:
- ArcGIS Indoors experience
- FME / Feature Manipulation Engine
- LAStools
- Experience converting point clouds into CAD/GIS deliverables
- Experience working with large datasets
