● Personality ● Strengths ● Challenges ● Behaviour ● Goals ● Emotional needs ● Social relationships ● Learning patterns ● Career aspirations The mentor will help students develop: Self-awareness → Confidence → Responsibility → Emotional maturity → Social intelligence → Professional readiness → Independence The ultimate objective is to ensure that students become capable of managing themselves, rather than becoming dependent on mentors. 2. WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO This is not a conventional counselling job.
You will spend significant time with young people. You will observe them in classrooms, activities, group situations and real-world environments. You will ask questions. You will challenge their thinking. You will identify behavioural patterns. You will conduct one-to-one mentoring sessions. You will help students reflect on their decisions. You will track their development. And sometimes, your job will simply be to listen.
