Role & responsibilities

Description

The role requires technical ownership experience of the systems and interfaces that power our data platform from database design and back-end APIs through to the dashboards and tools our internal users rely on every day. The individual will need to set the standard for engineering quality on the team, guide architectural decisions, and mentor engineers around you, while remaining hands-on across the full stack.

Requirements
- Frontend understanding: Good overall understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, browser behaviour, performance, and contemporary frameworks such as Vue, React, Blazor, or similar. Deep frontend expertise is not mandatory, but should be able to understand architecture and work effectively with frontend teams.
- Backend proficiency: Strong experience designing scalable backend systems and RESTful or event driven APIs, preferably using C# and .NET. Good understanding of distributed systems, integration patterns, scalability, reliability, and system design.
- Database skills:



Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar, preferably PostgreSQL. Good knowledge of schema design, queries, indexing, transactions, migrations, and cloud based relational databases.
- Data platforms: Experience integrating applications with data warehousing, lakehouse, and analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or similar. Good understanding of data integration, ETL, ELT, batch, and streaming concepts.
- Testing: Good practical experience with unit, integration, and end to end testing, with a strong focus on overall engineering quality.
- End to end ownership: Ability to own solutions from requirements and design through development, integration, deployment, and production support.
