Die Maker:
Key Responsibilities
Die Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot, sharpen, repair, and maintain progressive, stage, and draw dies used in automotive sheet metal stamping.
Assembly & Fitting: Read blue prints/CAD drawings to assemble, fit, and align intricate die parts, punches, and inserts.
Machining: Operate conventional tool room machinery (lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling machines) to fabricate or modify die components.
Quality & Trial: Conduct initial die trials on press machines, analyze sheet metal defects (such as burrs, cracks, or wrinkles), and make necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.
Preventative Care: Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance logs for tools and tool room equipment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: ITI Tool & Die Maker
Experience: 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience in an automotive sheet metal stamping or tooling unit.
Technical Skills: Robust ability to read engineering drawings, handle precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers), and understand metal clearance tolerances.
Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work in rotational production shifts.
