The Category Manager will support the Category Head in both strategic and operational aspects of category procurement, while independently leading key sub-segments and process improvement initiatives. This role combines analytical, commercial, and executional responsibilities to drive revenue, optimize margins, and enhance category performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own revenue and margins for assigned sub-categories, including portfolio and assortment planning.
- Conduct market analysis and engage with suppliers to identify sourcing and pricing opportunities.
- Collaborate with demand teams to address gaps in the customer value proposition.
- Independently manage sub-categories or regional operations, ensuring seamless execution.
- Oversee price benchmarking, negotiation processes,
and procurement dashboards for effective performance tracking.
- Coordinate with regional buyers to align demand signals and fulfillment requirements.
- Track and manage procurement contracts, delivery schedules, and documentation to ensure compliance and timeliness.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, quality improvements, and sourcing diversification strategies.
- Work with the planning team to build accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Revenue and margin ownership for assigned sub-categories.
- Timeliness of purchase order (PO) and contract execution.
- Data accuracy and reporting consistency.
- Inventory turns and working capital efficiency.
