Position: Inverter Service Engineer

Department: Operations / Service
Reporting To: Service Manager / Project Manager

Role Summary

The Inverter Service Engineer is responsible for installation, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of power inverters used in solar PV plants, UPS systems, and industrial power applications. The role ensures maximum system availability, compliance with safety standards, and adherence to OEM and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of inverters and associated equipment.
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot inverter faults (hardware, software, communication, and grid-related issues).
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (RCA/CAPA).
- Coordinate with OEM technical support for advanced fault resolution and warranty claims.
- Maintain service records, reports, and spare parts usage documentation.




- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, electrical safety standards, and site procedures.
- Support performance optimization, firmware updates, and system upgrades.
- Provide technical guidance and training to site technicians and operators.
- Liaise with project teams, clients, and subcontractors during service activities.

Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 4-8 years of experience in inverter servicing (solar PV / UPS / power electronics).
- Hands-on experience with major inverter brands
- Strong knowledge of power electronics, grid compliance, and electrical protection systems.

Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with SCADA, communication protocols (Modbus, TCP/IP), and monitoring systems.
