Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the eye OT before each surgical procedure.
- Arrange and check ophthalmic surgical instruments and equipment.
- Prepare surgical trays according to the planned procedure.
- Assist the ophthalmic surgeon during procedures.
- Maintain sterile/aseptic technique throughout surgery.
- Handle and maintain ophthalmic instruments carefully.
- Prepare and check microscopes, phaco machines, cautery, vitrectomy equipment, etc., as applicable.
- Ensure availability of IOLs, viscoelastic substances, sutures, blades, cannulas, and other consumables.
- Assist with patient positioning and pre-operative preparation.
- Perform cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments.
- Maintain OT records, surgical checklists, and inventory.




- Follow infection-control and biomedical-waste-management protocols.
- Check equipment functionality and report faults.
- Prepare the OT for the next case after completion of surgery.

- Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR)
- Vitrectomy and other retinal procedures
- Corneal and refractive procedures
- Minor ophthalmic surgeries
