Job Description – Special Educator

Position: Special Educator

Department: Special Education & Therapy Services

Location: Therapy Centre/Clinic

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Key Responsibilities
- Assess and identify children’s educational, developmental, and learning needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education and intervention plans.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group educational support.
- Work on cognitive, academic, attention, memory, and learning skills.
- Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning difficulties, developmental delays, and other special needs.
- Use structured teaching methods, visual aids, activity-based learning, and individualized strategies.
- Monitor and document the child’s progress regularly.
- Maintain session records, progress reports, and intervention plans.
- Coordinate with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Therapists,



and parents.
- Provide parents with appropriate home-based activities and guidance.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to overall treatment planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Special Education or a relevant field.
- RCI registration/certification preferred.
- Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a child-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience with children with special needs is preferred.
