Job Summary:

The Cath Lab In-Charge / Head is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and productive workflow. This role involves managing staff, coordinating procedures, maintaining equipment, implementing policies, and ensuring safety standards are met. The Cath Lab Head also collaborates with cardiologists, nurses, and technicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management
- Supervise the overall functioning of the Cath Lab to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Cath Lab.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations (e.g., JCI, NABH, AHA guidelines).
- Monitor and improve workflow efficiency for patient procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments (ICU, radiology, surgery, etc.) for seamless patient care.

2. Staff Leadership & Training
- Lead and manage a team of nurses, technicians, and other Cath Lab personnel.




- Schedule and assign duties to ensure optimal staffing levels.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on new procedures and equipment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend necessary professional development.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.

3. Patient Care & Safety
- Ensure high standards of patient safety and care before, during, and after procedures.
- Oversee infection control measures and maintain a sterile environment.
- Address patient concerns and ensure proper communication between the team and the patient’s family.
- Maintain emergency preparedness protocols for complications during procedures.

4. Equipment & Inventory Management
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of Cath Lab equipment (angiography machines, hemodynamic monitoring systems, etc.).
- Coordinate with the biomedical and engineering teams for repairs and upgrades.
