Role & responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the Operation Theatre (OT) before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgeries.
- Arrange and handle surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and follow infection-control protocols.
- Perform proper sterilization and disinfection of surgical instruments.
- Assist with patient preparation, positioning, shifting, and transfer.
- Ensure availability and proper functioning of OT equipment.
- Maintain surgical instrument and sponge/gauze counts before and after procedures.
- Handle emergency and trauma OT procedures as required.
- Maintain OT records, checklists, and procedure documentation.
- Follow biomedical waste management and hospital safety protocols.
- Monitor OT inventory and inform seniors about shortages of instruments or consumables.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness of the OT.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nurses, anesthesia team, and other hospital departments.

Preferred candidate profile




- Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with State Medical Facility.
- Relevant experience as an OT Technician in a hospital/healthcare setup preferred.
- Good knowledge of surgical instruments, OT procedures, sterilization, and infection control.
- Knowledge of different types of surgical procedures and OT protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently during emergency and critical situations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Responsible, disciplined, and attentive to detail.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Freshers with relevant qualification may also be considered.
