Key Responsibilities
- Enforce rules under the Factories Act.
- Monitor safety during woodworking, cutting, and chemical finishing (paints/adhesives).
- Conduct daily shop floor safety audits and inspections.
- Lead toolbox talks and current worker inductions.
- Investigate accidents or near-misses and log reports.
- Check correct usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like masks and earplugs.
- Maintain fire safety equipment and run mock drills.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education:
Degree or Diploma in Industrial Safety / Environment, Health & Safety (EHS).
- Experience: 2–5 years in a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Knowledge: Local factory acts, hazard identification (HIRA), and risk assessment.
- Skills: Strong local language (Tamil/English) communication and incident reporting.
