Core Responsibilities:
- Beverage Preparation:Baristas prepare a variety of hot and cold drinks, including coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages, following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Customer Service:They greet customers, take orders, answer questions about the menu, and provide recommendations.
- Cash Handling:Baristas process payments accurately, handle cash transactions, and manage the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Workspace Maintenance:They ensure the cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including counters, equipment, and seating areas.
- Inventory Management:Baristas monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and may assist with ordering and receiving new stock.
- Equipment Operation:They operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Food Service:In some establishments, baristas may also prepare and serve food items like pastries or sandwiches.
