Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Officer to manage procurement of TMT steel bars and coordinate closely with principal manufacturer, their branch managers, and the delivery team. The candidate should have solid knowledge of the TMT/steel market, pricing, monthly procurement planning, and supplier coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain commercial relationships with principal TMT steel manufacturers.
- Negotiate and coordinate MOU/commercial agreements with principal manufacturers, including:
- Purchase price and applicable discounts
- Monthly/periodic purchase commitments
- Ordered quantities and allocation
- Payment and commercial terms
- Price revisions and market-linked changes
- Prepare and monitor monthly purchase quantities based on sales requirements, stock levels, and branch requirements.
- Coordinate with Branch Managers to understand requirements and finalize purchase quantities.
- Place purchase orders with principal manufacturers and ensure orders are confirmed within agreed timelines.
- Closely follow up on dispatch and delivery schedules with manufacturers.
- Coordinate with transport/logistics teams to ensure timely material delivery to the required branch/location.
- Track pending orders, dispatches, transit material, and delayed deliveries and take corrective action.
- Monitor TMT/steel market prices and provide regular updates to management.
- Compare supplier pricing and commercial terms to ensure competitive procurement.
- Maintain proper records of purchase orders, MOU commitments, rates, quantities, dispatches, and outstanding deliveries.
