The Senior Dialysis Technician is responsible for providing safe, productive and high quality dialysis support to patients undergoing hemodialysis. The role involves operating and maintaining dialysis equipment, preparing patients and treatment areas, monitoring patients during treatment, maintaining infection control standards and supporting the clinical team. The Senior Dialysis Technician may also guide and supervise junior dialysis technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare dialysis machines, equipment, consumables and treatment stations before each dialysis session.
- Perform pre treatment checks on dialysis machines and related equipment.
- Prepare and connect patients for hemodialysis according to established clinical protocols and under appropriate clinical supervision.
- Monitor patients and dialysis equipment throughout treatment and promptly report abnormal findings or complications to the nurse/doctor.
- Maintain accurate records of dialysis treatments, patient observations,
machine parameters and incidents.
- Follow strict infection prevention and control procedures, including proper disinfection and handling of dialysis equipment.
- Monitor dialysis water-treatment systems and report abnormalities according to facility protocols.
- Perform routine cleaning, disinfection and basic troubleshooting of dialysis machines and equipment.
- Ensure adequate availability and proper storage of dialysis consumables and supplies.
- Assist with emergency procedures and respond appropriately to equipment or patient-related problems.
- Follow hospital policies, occupational safety standards, and applicable dialysis regulations.
- Coordinate with nephrologists, dialysis nurses, biomedical engineers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Train, guide and support junior dialysis technicians in equipment operation, infection control, and standard procedures.
- Help maintain a secure, clean and organized dialy
