Role & responsibilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and engineering drawings.
- Hands-on experience with Creo 2, Inventor, and 3D modelling.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical design of Distribution and Power Transformers up to 20 MVA / 132 kV.
- Experience in transformer components and mechanical structures, including:
- Tank design
- Yoke and clamp arrangement
- Insulation structures
- Internal connection drawings
- Customer drawings
- Knowledge of design optimization methodologies and application of design principles for cost, quality, and manufacturability.
- Understanding of stress analysis and mechanical calculations.
- Knowledge of relevant transformer standards and their application.
- Basic understanding of thermal design and transformer cooling systems.
- Ability to interpret and incorporate customer technical requirements into engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and modify customer drawings using Creo, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
- Develop shop-pack and manufacturing drawings for transformers up to 20 MVA / 132 kV.
- Prepare detailed drawings for transformer tanks, yoke clamps, insulation structures, and internal connections.
- Coordinate directly with customers for technical discussions, drawing clarifications, and closure of design-related queries.
- Manage and maintain BOMs through ERP/SAP systems.
- Support transformer thermal and cooling-system design activities.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable transformer standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform or support stress and mechanical calculations as required.
- Identify opportunities for design optimization, standardization, and cost improvement.
- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve shop-floor design and drawing-related issues.
- Support a strong quality and safety culture across design and manufacturing activities.
