The Quantity Surveyor & Billing Engineer is responsible for quantity estimation, measurement of work, preparation and verification of bills, cost control, and project budgeting. The role ensures accurate project billing, contract compliance and effective financial management of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Quantity Surveying
- Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Verify quantities executed at site.
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) in ERP, PO's , workorders and cost estimates.
- Analyze project drawings and specifications for quantity calculations.
- Monitor material consumption and project costs.
- Assist in tendering and procurement activities.
Billing & Cost Management
- Prepare client RA (Running Account) bills and final bills.
- Verify subcontractor/vendor bills and measurements.
- Maintain billing records and payment tracking.
- Coordinate with project teams for work progress certification.
- Prepare variations, extra claims, and change orders.
- Track budget versus actual project costs.
Contract Administration
- Review contract terms and commercial conditions.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Support claim preparation and dispute resolution.
- Maintain documentation related to contracts and billing.
Reporting
- Generate weekly and monthly cost reports.
- Prepare cash flow and project cost forecasts.
- Present billing status and outstanding payments to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in quantity surveying and billing of construction projects.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation, estimation, and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with construction contracts and project costing.
