Job Purpose
To ensure the smooth and reliable operation of plant machinery and equipment by carrying out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities, with minimum machine downtime and maximum equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment and production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems in Cold Forging, Thread Rolling, Heat Treatment, Surface Treatment and other manufacturing equipment.
- Inspect and maintain gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, chains, sprockets, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps and compressors.
- Attend machine breakdowns promptly and identify the root cause of failures.
- Conduct regular inspection of machines and identify potential mechanical failures.
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules and maintain proper maintenance records.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality and other departments for planned maintenance activities.
- Support installation, commissioning and trial runs of new machines and equipment.
- Maintain minimum stock of critical mechanical spare parts and coordinate with Stores for availability.
- Follow 5S, safety procedures and preventive maintenance standards in the maintenance area.
- Maintain breakdown reports, PM checklists, machine history cards and spare-parts records.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions and continuous improvement / Kaizen activities.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and within the required time.
- Support the Maintenance Manager in improving machine reliability and reducing breakdown hours.
