1. Quantity Take-Off & Measurement
- Calculate quantities of electrical items like cables, conduits, panels, earthing, lighting fixtures, etc.
- Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) based on drawings and site execution.
- Verify actual work done at site .
2. Billing & Invoice Preparation
- Prepare RA Bills (Running Account Bills) for ongoing projects.
- Generate client invoices based on completed electrical work.
- Ensure billing aligns with contract terms and approved rates.
3. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain detailed records of:
- Work completed
- Measurements (MB – Measurement Book)
- Approved drawings and revisions
4. Coordination with Site & Planning Teams
- Work closely with:
- Site engineers (for progress updates)
- Planning team (for schedules)
- Ensure billing reflects actual site progress.
5. Contract Management
- Understand project contracts, specifications, and payment terms.
- Handle variation orders / extra items (changes in scope).
- Ensure claims for additional work are properly documented and billed.
6. Verification & Certification
- Cross-check subcontractor bills for electrical work.
- Ensure all quantities and rates are accurate before approval.
- Assist consultants or clients during bill certification.
7. Technical Understanding (Electrical)
- Read and interpret:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Layout drawings
- Cable schedules
- Understand electrical systems like:
- LT/HT panels
- Transformers
