- Prepare the Operation Theatre before scheduled surgeries.
- Check OT equipment, instruments, machines, and surgical supplies before procedures.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures as required.
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment.
- Follow proper sterilization and disinfection procedures.
- Maintain aseptic and infection-control practices at all times.
- Assist in surgical gowning, gloving, and preparation of sterile fields.
- Arrange surgical instruments and consumables according to the procedure.
- Assist with patient positioning and safe transfer of patients to and from the OT.
- Ensure availability of emergency drugs, equipment, and required consumables in coordination with the concerned staff.
- Perform instrument and sponge counts before and after surgery as per hospital protocol.
- Clean and prepare the OT after every procedure.
- Segregate and dispose of biomedical waste according to hospital policy.
- Maintain OT registers, checklists, sterilization records, and other required documentation.
- Check expiry dates and proper storage of OT consumables and sterile items.
- Report damaged, missing, expired, or malfunctioning equipment to the OT In-Charge.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional behaviour with patients and staff.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, NABH standards, and infection-control guidelines.
- Participate in emergency and trauma procedures when required.
- Coordinate with CSSD, nursing, housekeeping, pharmacy, and other departments for smooth OT functioning.
