Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide performance tuning and capacity management services for mainframe systems, ensuring optimal system utilization and resource allocation.
- Analyze workloads, identify bottlenecks, and develop strategies to improve performance and reduce latency.
- Manage queues, jobs, JCLs, batch monitoring, and job scheduling on mainframes using various tools such as ISPF/SDSF.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement capacity planning solutions that meet business requirements.
- Develop reports on system metrics (e.g., CPU usage, memory consumption) to inform decision-making.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 5-10 years of experience in mainframe performance tuning & capacity management or related field.
- Robust understanding of mainframe architecture, operating systems (IBM z/OS), and application programming languages (COBOL).
- Proficiency in managing large datasets using SQL queries or equivalent tools like AIX Workload Manager.
