Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and organized Librarian to manage the day-to-day operations of the library, maintain library resources, assist students and staff with information needs, and promote effective use of library facilities and digital resources.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the library and ensure a welcoming, organized workplace.

Maintain and update books, journals, periodicals, reference materials, and digital resources.

Handle the issue, return, renewal, and reservation of library materials.

Maintain accurate records of books, members, circulation, and library assets.

Classify, catalogue, label, and arrange books and other resources systematically.

Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating books, references, and relevant information.

Support students with research, reading,



and information-literacy activities.

Monitor overdue books and follow up on pending returns.

Conduct periodic stock verification and maintain inventory records.

Recommend new books, journals, e-resources, and other learning materials based on institutional requirements.

Ensure proper maintenance and preservation of library resources.

Manage library software/digital catalogues and maintain accurate database records.

Prepare library reports, usage statistics, and other documentation as required.

Promote reading habits through book displays, reading programs, and library activities.

Ensure compliance with institutional policies and maintain discipline within the library.

Coordinate with faculty and management regarding academic and library resource requirements.
