Role & responsibilities
- All faculty must be registered with the State Medical Council (MCI/NMC recognised registration).
- Teaching load as per NMC norms: Professors and Associate Professors clinical + teaching combined; Asst Professors minimum 46 teaching hours/week; SR minimum 4 hours/week academic participation.
- CBME (Competency-Based Medical Education) curriculum compliance is mandatory from 2019 MBBS batch onwards.
- Faculty Development Programme (FDP): All current faculty must complete NMC-mandated FDP within 2 years of joining.
- Teacher-Student ratio and faculty-bed ratio to be maintained as per NMC Graduate Medical Education Regulations.
- Age limit: As per NMC norms, upper age limit for appointment is generally 70 years; superannuation age as per state government norms.
- Workload: OPD, IPD, teaching, and research activities distributed in the ratio defined by NMC inspection norms.
- Publications: Original articles in PubMed/SCOPUS indexed journals preferred; NMC counts first/corresponding authorship preferentially.

Preferred candidate profile

PROFESSOR





PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in relevant subject from MCI/NMC-recognized institution

10 years teaching experience in the subject as Lecturer/Asst Prof/Assoc Prof after obtaining PG qualification; at least 2 original research publications in indexed journals

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in relevant subject from MCI/NMC-recognized institution

5 years teaching experience as Lecturer/Asst Prof after PG; at least 2 original publications in indexed journals; recognized as co-guide for PG thesis

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in relevant subject; for pre-clinical subjects, PhD may be accepted if MD not available

3 years teaching experience as Demonstrator/Tutor/Registrar/SR in a recognised medical college or hospital after PG; at least 1 publication in an indexed journal.

SENIOR RESIDENT (SR)

MBBS + PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB/Diploma) in relevant specialty from MCI/NMC-recognised institution
