To deliver high-quality, inquiry-based teaching in IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Individuals & Societies and IB Diploma Programme (DP) History, fostering critical thinking, international-mindedness, research skills, and a deep understanding of historical and contemporary global issues in alignment with the IB philosophy. MYP Individuals & Societies integrates disciplines such as history, geography, economics, civics, politics and related humanities subjects.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning & Delivery
Teach MYP Individuals & Societies (Grades 6–10) and DP History (Grades 11–12). Design concept-driven, inquiry-based units aligned with IB curriculum frameworks. Develop Unit Planners using: Key & Related Concepts Global Contexts Statement of Inquiry Inquiry Questions ATL (Approaches to Learning) Skills Integrate interdisciplinary learning experiences. Promote historical inquiry using primary and secondary sources. Connect historical events with present-day global issues. 2. Teaching & Learning




Deliver engaging lessons using: Inquiry-based learning Project-based learning Team-oriented learning Debates Simulations Case studies Research activities Encourage analytical thinking, interpretation, and evaluation of evidence. Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs. Effectively integrate educational technology into teaching. 3. Assessment
Design formative and summative assessments aligned with: MYP Assessment Criteria (A, B, C & D) DP History Assessment Objectives Provide timely and constructive feedback. Maintain student portfolios and assessment records. Prepare students for: MYP e Assessment (where applicable) DP Internal Assessment (Historical Investigation) DP External Examinations 4. Student Development
Promote the IB Learner Profile attributes. Develop students' research, communication, collaboration and reflection skills. Mentor students for: Personal Project (MYP) Extended Essay
