Job Description – Senior Planning Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and monitor detailed production schedules for the manufacturing of
Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Columns, Reactors, and other static equipment
.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Develop and track shop floor schedules, monitor progress against plan, and identify bottlenecks affecting delivery timelines.
- Prepare weekly and monthly production reports, material status reports, and project progress updates.
- Ensure availability of drawings, BOMs, raw materials, and bought-out items as per the production plan.
- Monitor fabrication activities including cutting, forming, fit-up, welding, NDT, PWHT, machining, hydrotesting, and final dispatch.




- Follow up with internal departments and vendors to achieve project milestones and committed delivery dates.
- Participate in capacity planning, load balancing, and optimization of manufacturing resources.
- Support implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 6 - 12 years of experience in Planning
in a heavy engineering or fabrication workplace.
- Hands-on experience in planning and scheduling for
Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers
manufacturing.
- Good understanding of
shop floor scheduling
, fabrication sequences, and welding processes.
- Knowledge of
ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ASME Section II, V, IX
, and other applicable fabrication standards.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and proficiency in
MS Excel and MS Project/Primavera
for scheduling and tracking.
