Our client is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to independently own day-to-day management of our hardware and software assets. This role is accountable for executing HAM and SAM processes accurately and consistently, supporting compliance, and surfacing cost-saving opportunities. You will work closely with the Senior Asset Manager, Procurement, and IT teams, and may provide guidance to Associates/Analysts on routine tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day lifecycle of IT assets — hardware and software — from intake through disposal, ensuring records stay accurate and current.
- Apply and help refine asset and license management policies for HAM and SAM in line with team standards.
- Coordinate asset refresh and retirement activities, flagging risks or value-recovery opportunities to the Senior Asset Manager. Compliance & Reporting
- Track software license entitlements and renewals and maintain SAM compliance records to reduce audit risk.
- Maintain hardware inventory accuracy across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, reconciling discrepancies as they arise.
- Support Procurement and Finance with vendor coordination, contract data, and costsaving analysis (reuse, right-sizing, license reallocation).
- Prepare regular reports on asset utilization and compliance status for review by senior stakeholders. Collaboration & Support
- Support internal and external audits by preparing accurate, well-organized documentation.
- Work cross-functionally with IT, Security, and other departments to keep asset and license records complete and current.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to Associates/Analysts on HAM and SAM process execution.
Requirements:
- Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience in IT asset management, with working knowledge of both Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM).
- Technical Expertise:
Hands-on experience with ITAM/SAM tools and familiarity with the ITIL/ITSM framework, particularly how incident, change, and
